Recife... Italian Venice on a Brazilian land!

The Brazilian city of Recife is famous for its waterways and bridges; that resembles the ones in Venice.

Recife is one of Brazil's largest cities and is famous for the manufacture and export of sugarcane, that is one of the most popular and official beverages in Brazil.

The city was founded in 1630 and was built by the Dutch colonists before the arrival of the Portuguese. There are still some monuments now, such as Cinco Puntas Castle.

Alongside the canals, Recife has many impressive monuments that attract many tourists, such as many Baroque churches and monasteries as well as many of the colonial-style houses of bright colors.

The city has many artists on its streets in various areas, giving the city more joy and happiness.
